Shayona is a pure vegetarian Indian restaurant. All our products are manufactured by a group of disadvantaged communities. The demand for our elegantly packaged gift-boxes has increased tremendously over the years, due to the excellent quality and standards of our products.
We are a non-profit community restaurant who give back to various charitable organizations in South Africa. The Shayona Foundation operates with the inspiration of Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s life, work and teachings of “in the joy of others lies our own”.
Shayona provides an answer to challenging lifestyles where time and resources are limited, and making sweetmeats traditionally at home, has become difficult.
Shayona began from the in 1999 specializing in sweetmeats and savouries, with a bit of takeaway on the side.
Everything was made on the premises, starting from paneer to ghee to sweet made with imported buffalo milk powder.
In 2004, we expanded our operations, and what was a 25m2 one shop show emerged to a fully equipped restaurant in the heart of Mayfair.
We have since then grown to establish our name of the wholesome food in Laudium, Lenasia and Cape Town.
We undertake catering contracts for weddings and any other functions.
